Privacy Policy

Last updated: [FILL IN: date]

This policy describes what the My Extension browser extension collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to match what the extension actually does, no more and no less. [FILL IN: who operates the extension: your name or company name, and country]operates the extension and is the data controller for the data described below.

What the extension collects

  • Account profile. If you sign in, we receive your email address, name, and avatar from your Google account (or the email address you register with) through our authentication provider, together with a random account identifier. If you use the extension without signing in, no account is created.
  • Billing status. If you purchase a plan, payment is processed entirely by our payment provider on its own hosted pages. We never see your card details. We store your plan and subscription status, and the provider's customer reference, so the extension knows what you have access to. The provider's own privacy policy applies to its processing: [FILL IN: link your payment provider's privacy policy]
  • Feature-usage counts. The extension counts how many times you use its features (numbers only, tied to your account) to power free-tier limits. No page URLs and no page content are ever included.

What the extension does not collect

  • No browsing history: the extension never records which pages you visit.
  • No page content: nothing you read or type on websites is transmitted.
  • No keystrokes, no location, no analytics or advertising trackers.

[FILL IN: if you added any collection beyond the above (analytics, page-content features, extra APIs), describe it here, or delete this placeholder.]

Data that stays on your device

Your settings, such as the theme, are saved in your browser's extension storage and never leave your device. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.[FILL IN: name what your features keep there, such as "the quotes you save", or delete this placeholder.]

Where data is stored

Data is stored in our Google Firebase project (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) Data is stored in our Supabase project (Supabase Auth and its Postgres database) [FILL IN: region if you pinned one, e.g. "in the EU (europe-west1)"]and, for purchases, with our payment provider. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone except these service providers, which process it on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete the data we hold about you, except records we must keep for legal reasons (such as tax records of purchases). [FILL IN: adjust if your retention differs.]

Your rights

You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@example.com.

Changes

If the extension starts collecting anything new, this policy will be updated first and the "last updated" date will change.
